I have been loving the romantic look but find it is getting a little over-done. So how to make it fresh and new?
Here are some ideas to do the romantic vintage look and not look like you stepped out of your Grandma's attic:
--incorporate some boho elements to give it a less "stuffy" and more "free spirited" look. Try gypsy bangles and hoop earrings or a great fringy scarf
--Give it some European appeal with classic French and Continental touches such as crisp stripes, or maybe a slouchy beret.
--Pop the familiar dusty pastel color palette with a bright such as fuchsia or lime.
--Give the sweetness a dose of moodiness with blacks and grays used in the palette.
--Don't overdo the flowers and ruffles, go with one romantic element and leave the rest of the look clean.
--add subtle shine or sparkle to update the look and keep it from being too precious.
